August was a month for vacations, warm summer days, and back-to-school sales, and although the AV industry took a breath, there were still plenty of stories to talk about this month. These include a landmark report released by AVIXA, mergers and acquisitions, sell-offs, and the introduction of a new six-DLP projector, among other announcements.

1. AVIXA Research Forecasts Pro AV Industry Set to Reach $402 Billion by 2030

In a landmark report, AVIXA’s Industry Outlook and Trends Analysis (IOTA) predicts pro AV revenue will grow from $332 billion in 2025 to $402 billion by 2030. Previously, the IOTA predicted market growth to reach $325 billion by 2024, but the actual growth was slower than expected, reaching $321 billion instead. However, the pro AV industry remains resilient, with a forecasted increase of $70 billion over the next five years.

2. Kinly merges with Yorktel 

Yorktel, the global AV systems integrator and managed services provider, has signed an agreement to merge with Kinly, a global AV and UCC integration firm headquartered in Amsterdam. The merger is expected to accelerate worldwide growth and expand next-generation systems integration capabilities with a larger talent base, thereby enhancing Yorktel’s ability to meet the evolving needs of enterprise and public sector clients globally.

3. Navori Labs acquires Signagelive  

Digital signage consolidation continued in August with the purchase of Signagelive by Navoir Labs. The move was touted as the largest independent channel-only CMS provider by installed base, with over 45 developers and a global footprint. 

4. D-Tools secures $12 million funding led by former SnapOne CEO

D-Tools has secured a $12 million investment led by former Snap One CEO John Heyman through a newly formed company, StellarIQ. The new funding supports D-Tools’ mission to become the de facto end-to-end software solution for electronics system contractors. 

5. Clear Channel’s U.S. Focus Pays Off with Solid Revenue Growth

Clear Channel’s strategy of selling off international subsidiaries and focusing on its North American business—especially airports—seems to be paying off. After struggling in the years following the COVID-19 pandemic, the out-of-home media owner is expecting a 4.8 percent revenue increase in the first half of 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.

6. Christie Launches Eclipse G3: A New Benchmark in Projection

Christie introduced the Eclipse G3, a six-DLP projector delivering 30,000 lumens, HDR color, a 20,000,000:1 contrast ratio, and nearly 98 percent Rec. 2020 coverage. The projector is designed for planetariums, themed attractions, and high-end theaters.

7. Grimani Systems Unveils MP-84 MiniPort Ceiling Speaker

Grimani Systems introduced the MP-84 MiniPort, a premium, two-way bi-amplified active ceiling speaker that delivers 106 dB SPL and features a full-range bandwidth of 40 Hz to 20 kHz. Designed to blend seamlessly into any décor, it features interchangeable magnetic grilles and operates with a DSP-controlled crossover. 

8. Nanolumens and Capital Sign collaborate on North America’s 'Largest Freestanding LED Screen'

Atlanta’s Assembly Studio is a 140-foot-tall tower featuring an LED display approximately 136 feet tall. Located at the studio’s entrance, it welcomes visitors and catches the attention of commuters along Interstate 285. Billed as North America’s largest freestanding LED screen, it incorporates two different pixel pitches that gradually change as you move upward.

From mergers and acquisitions to major funding announcements and the release of a landmark report, August demonstrated that the Pro AV sector is moving at a bullish pace. As we segue into the busy fall season, you can expect more excitement and momentum in the industry.
