Instructor Information

Mark Coxon is a Business Development Manager for XTG, AVI-SPL’s Experience Technology Group. He is focused on the interplay of people, space, and technology to create desired outcomes. He holds certifications in both Design (CTS-D) and Installation (CTS-I) through AVIXA, where he gives talks and facilitates workshops designed to unlock new innovations and opportunities. He describes himself as an accidental technologist and a Xennial bridging analog to digital gaps. He is a student of both animal behavior and behavioral psychology and is also a Krav Maga and Muay Thai instructor on the weekends.

Dr Piet van der Zanden is education expert at Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) with special focus on AV-IT and interior issues of teaching and learning spaces. He advises about audio-visual, pedagogical, ergonomic, and technical issues, and is involved in feasibility and usability studies. Piet has been developing TU Delft Education Space Configurator (TUDesc.com) to functionally design readability and ergonomics for education spaces. It contains an online space catalogue (ESViewer.com) as sublicence to visualize education related facilities for teaching and scheduling staff, and it holds ESViewerPlus to report about life cycle management and carbon.

With 25 years of experience spanning film, television, digital signage, digital media, technology, ad sales and marketing, together with a tirelessly vibrant presence, Kim is a force both on and off the podium and has become a popular speaker and panel chair at leading industry events.
Kim studied at the University of Central Florida, where she majored in Communications with a focus on Corporate Business and Development by The Nightwing Group as they launched PetCARE TV, a combination Place-Based media Channel in Veterinary offices and on Cable TV. Shortly after the Cable Channel was sold to Animal Planet, Kim assumed total responsibility for Trade Shows and Trade Advertising on the Veterinary Place-Based media network. When Nightwing was acquired by Entertainment Arts, Kim was asked to run the advertising sales department as well, and shortly thereafter was given total marketing and sales responsibility. A few years later, when PetCARE TV was sold to a group of investors in LA, Kim went along to supervise the transition of PetCARE TV from a DVD Place-Based Video Network in Veterinary offices to a digitally delivered broadband network and to launch a sister channel in pediatric offices called KidCARE TV. As the company grew and launched additional DOOH networks, Kim led the team to add all social media platforms, web sites, and other marketing technologies.
Kim currently has certification in IoT from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Contract Law from Harvard Law School, Digital Marketing, social media and E-Commerce from Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She continues to stay on the leading edge in her field by expanding her knowledge in technology, currently working towards her Micro Master in Artificial Intelligence from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).
As the only woman ever to be elected Chairwoman of the Digital Signage Federation, Ms. Sarubbi also served on the Executive Committee, as Secretary/Treasurer, Vice-Chairwomen, and currently serves on the Chairman’s Council. During her tenure, Kim was tapped to write the industry standards manual on creating content for the digital signage industry.
Ms. Sarubbi is currently chair emeritus of ACE (Associates for Connected Experiences), an Association of Associations. This group has over 12 global Associations, each of whom have a stake in connected technologies and strategies.The mission is to actively support, navigate and promote the common business interests of the worldwide customer experience industry, the interactive technologies industry and the digital out-of-home network industry. Kim runs a global group that creates awareness and presents challenges to Help Save the Planet.

Britt Yenser, CTS is an experienced audiovisual professional and advocate for diversity and inclusion in the AV industry. She is the AV Manager at Northampton Community College and serves on the Board of Directors for HETMA (Higher Education Technology Managers Alliance). Britt is also the creator and host of the award-winning brAVe [space] podcast, where she explores compassion, leadership, and equity. She was named AV Professional of the Year by Higher Ed AV Media in 2023, is one of Commercial Integrator's 40 Influencers Under 40 (2023), and was most recently named AV Professional of the Year by the AV Nation Readers' Choice Awards for 2024.

Peter Coman is an award-winning designer whose career spans 30+ years in the technology industry. With a background in owning and managing IT companies and installing and programming advanced technology systems, Pete knows what it’s like on both sides of the fence. Peter continually immerses and educates himself in the latest state-of-the-art and emerging technologies, working at all levels from installation and programming to design, consulting, project management and education. Peter has worked throughout Australia and in the U.S. on some of the largest, most complex, and challenging projects, and leverages his expertise and experience from numerous award-winning projects.
