June proved to be a monumental month for the AV industry: InfoComm 2025, held from June 7 to 13 in Orlando, drew record-breaking attendance with 30,998 verified attendees spread across 817 exhibitors from 97 different countries. The event showcased leading-edge AI and digital signage innovations, saw merger and acquisition activity with AVI-SPL, and opened registration for InfoComm América Latina 2025. 

Notably, 35 percent of attendees were end users, marking a record high and highlighting ROI potential for exhibitors. While InfoComm dominated the month, there were stories outside the show that had a significant impact on the industry. 

1. AVI‑SPL Acquisition By 26north

On June 26, it was announced that North Partners agreed to acquire a controlling stake in AVI‑SPL from Marlin Equity Partners and other shareholders. The deal is expected to close in the third quarter of 2025. The buyout supports strategic consolidation, with AVI-SPL’s 2024 revenues exceeding USD 1.6 billion and installations surpassing 12,800 systems.

2. AVIXA Foundation Announces 2025 Brad Sousa Impact Fund Grantees

The AVIXA Foundation announced its 2025 grantees for the Brad Sousa Impact Fund at the Xchange Live Stage during InfoComm. This fund, in memory of Brad Sousa, aims to foster innovation and support initiatives using audiovisual technology for positive community change worldwide.

3. LG’s AI Avatar Transparent OLED

LG's “hidden booth” at InfoComm 2025 featured an interactive 30-inch transparent OLED with an AI “avatar” assistant, courtesy of Invisible Arts. Positioned as a virtual concierge, the concept demonstration responded vocally and visually, aiming to reduce operational friction in commercial environments.

5. State Of The Industry Luncheon At InfoComm

The presentation, led by AVIXA’s Sean Wargo, also discussed several research offerings, including AVIXA’s annual channel survey and quarterly end-user demand research.

6. World’s Longest Outdoor LED Lights Up by Dubai Fountains

Dubai unveiled an ambitious LED project: a 418-meter-long and 3-meter-high screen along the promenade by the Dubai Fountains. This installation, the longest (semi-)permanent outdoor LED display in the Gulf region, serves as an alternative attraction while the fountains undergo renovations.

8. InfoComm América Latina 2025 Registration Opens

Last but certainly not least, AVIXA has confirmed that registration is now open for the inaugural InfoComm América Latina, scheduled for October 22–24, 2025, at Mexico City’s World Trade Center. More than 60 exhibitors representing 100+ brands are expected to showcase AV tech solutions across Latin America.
