As broadcast and AV converge, and immersive technologies continue to redefine space and storytelling, this month offered compelling examples of innovation in action. Here’s a look at eight standout projects and developments that shaped the industry across Asia, EMEA, and North America.

1. Absen × Versatile LED Virtual Production Volume in Deqing, China

On July 14, 2025, Absen and Versatile unveiled what is now the world’s largest monolithic LED virtual production stage in Deqing, Zhejiang. Featuring a 270-degree curved LED wall measuring 50 meters in width and 12 meters in height, spanning a 5,000-square-meter floor with 1,700 square meters of LED display (equivalent to four basketball courts), the facility supports immersive 8K LED environments with HDR, high refresh rates, fine pixel pitch, and advanced color accuracy. The project dramatically boosts virtual production efficiency and sets a new benchmark in film and television content creation.

2. Dubai’s 418‑metre LED promenade display at the Fountains

In the Middle East, Dubai introduced a 418‑metre‑long and 3‑metre‑high outdoor LED wall along the promenade by the Dubai Fountains. Unveiled in June/July 2025, it’s the longest semi-permanent LED display in the region and serves as an alternative attraction during fountain renovations. The striking display is a dramatic example of large-scale digital signage in public spaces.

3. InfoComm Asia 2025 showcases regional innovation in Bangkok

Held from July 23 to 25, 2025, at the Queen Sirikit Convention Center, InfoComm Asia 2025 served as Asia’s premier hub for Pro AV, showcasing integrated technology, AI-assisted displays, collaborative platforms, and immersive solutions. The show floor was a vibrant hub of innovation, showcasing over 250 new products from more than 170 exhibitors and industry leaders, including Google and Accenture. The event also hosted the InAVate APAC Awards on July 23, recognizing exceptional AV projects in the Asia-Pacific region.

4. Tampa International Airport Elevates the Passenger Experience with Nanolumens

Tampa International Airport is utilizing a range of Nanolumens displays, including the Nixel Curved Series, Engage 1.2 for Flight Information Displays (FIDs), and the Performance Series in the cell phone waiting lot to elevate the passenger experience. Designed to adapt to dynamic airport conditions, these displays enhance navigation, streamline passenger flow, and meet the evolving demands of modern transportation. As part of a $1.5 billion upgrade, the airport plans to incorporate LED lighting across the entire back wall in its upcoming ticket-level modernization and its baggage area. A spokesperson said they are also developing the Airside D terminal, which will feature significant LED installations.

5. Christie sells Pandoras Box

In mid-July, Christie sold its Pandoras Box real-time rendering/control system line to founders and long-time users Daniel Schäfer, Daniel Kaminski, and Andre Maier. The move is expected to spur innovation and maintain continuity in live visual content workflows across Europe, Asia, and North America while allowing Christie to streamline and refocus on its core strengths.

6. Major LED upgrades at Truist Park, home of the Atlanta Braves

Ahead of the 2025 Major League Baseball (MLB) All‑Star Game, SNA Displays and consultants at WJHW completed an ambitious upgrade at Truist Park in under 12 months: Twelve new LED displays, including a 65×121‑foot BravesVision videoboard with over twice the pixel density of its predecessor, plus ribbon boards, control‑room overhaul, and venue-wide LED integration were part of the installation. The project elevates the fan experience and visual consistency.

7. Quince Imaging and its partners deliver a memorable projection mapping show at the MLB All-Star Game

Truist Park also featured an impressive projection mapping display at the 2025 MLB All-Star Game, drawing rave reviews from fans and the media.
