Prepare yourself for success in the CTS®-I (Certified Technology Specialist in Installation) exam with our CTS-I Prep course. This program is designed to boost your confidence, refine your test-taking skills, and focus your study efforts on critical areas of the exam.

Who should enroll:

This course is intended for professionals who:

• Currently hold the CTS® credential.
• Have a minimum of two years' experience in audiovisual installation.

Prerequisites:

It is highly recommended that students have a solid foundation in AV math or have completed AVIXA's AV Math Online course.

Course Highlights:

• This comprehensive six-day instructor-led classroom course runs for four hours each day, with potential additional evening study requirements.
• Key elements of the course include:

-Exploring the CTS-I exam format and reviewing critical areas of the exam.

-Examining content areas and aspects outlined in the CTS-I exam content outline.

-Reviewing pre-installation activities, cable pulling, substructure mounting, AV system installation, and verification.

-Focusing on the specific areas you need to develop.

-Preparing with question drills.

-Discovering test-taking strategies to help you create a comprehensive study plan.

Important Reminders:

• Completion of the CTS-I Prep program does not guarantee that participants will pass the CTS-I exam.
• Please note that this program may not comprehensively cover all the topics listed in the exam content outline.
• Registering for the CTS-I Prep course does not automatically enroll you for the CTS-I exam. The CTS-I exam requires a separate application, payment, and scheduling at a Pearson Vue testing center.
• Eligibility requirements for the CTS-I exam are listed in the CTS-I candidate handbook, which candidates should review thoroughly before enrolling in this course.

Greg Carstens

Greg is a 20+ year veteran of the AV industry, having started his career in the production equipment sales side and quickly branching into AV and commercial installations. He worked in parallel with other low-voltage trades, often working in access control, security, and nurse call systems. For most of the past ten years, Greg has worked in higher education with campus technology departments, designing classrooms, auditoriums, and various types of conference systems.   Greg has presented at a number of conferences in the past focusing on campus standards development and other areas on in-house integration topics.  He's helped publish several universities' AV standards.  
Greg holds Crestron's Masters in Commercial Architecture, Level 3 Dante, QSC Level 2 and Video level 1.  Greg holds CTS-D and CTS-I certifications and has been active with AVIXA’s Standards Steering Committee and other Standards task forces.  Formal education includes an undergraduate degree in Business Administration with and Emphasis in Entrepreneurial Management and a Masters of Engineering in Engineering Management.  Greg is a US Army Veteran and was a Combat Communications Specialist during his time in uniform.
